Youth Coaching
Coaching is a vehicle for personal development that’s beneficial to everyone, young and old. Many of the issues that adults face, lack of motivation, low confidence and self-esteem, managing emotions, struggling to set and achieve goals, navigating relationships and social interactions, are exactly the same issues that young people are facing day-in-day-out.
Add in all the changes young people are experiencing at the most transitional period of lives, imbalanced hormones, bodily changes, establishing their own identity, embarking on first relationships, educational pressures and so on, it’s not surprising that they can become easily overwhelmed and therefore could benefit from an impartial outlet.
The sessions are client led and future focused, with the young person setting the agenda. They decide the topics they want to explore and the coach will use a variety of age appropriate tools and techniques to equip them in the best way possible to deal with these going forwards. The young person will set personal goals each session to be held accountable for.
The specific reasons for engaging a coach will vary. However, it’s important that the young person wants to work with a coach, is completely invested in the process and is not ‘going along with it’ because their parent/guardian wishes them to.

In Practice
This service is aimed at young people between the ages of 13 - 25 and commence with an initial 30 minute meeting with the young person to establish their reasons for engaging a coach, goals for the sessions and to discuss the practicalities of working together.
If a young person is under 18, the coach will first meet with their sponsor/parent/guardian, then with the young person and finally as a triad to establish the boundaries around working methods, confidentiality and sharing the information disclosed.
Typically coaching sessions last 60 minutes, and take place in blocks of 3-6 sessions, spaced 4-6 weeks apart in order for the young person to put into practice everything they have worked on during the session.
Prices for youth coaching start from £79 per 60 minute session.
